Description

The Triconex 3481 (AO3481) is an analog output module designed for controlling analog field devices in Tricon safety-critical systems. Operating on a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture, the 3481 processes output data received over the system I/O bus from Main Processor modules and converts digital values into 4-20 mA analog output current signals. The module incorporates three independent execution channels to ensure fault tolerance and output voting before current delivery to connected final control elements.

Features

  • TMR architecture for high reliability in safety-critical control loops
  • 4-20 mA current loop output generation
  • Onboard diagnostic checking and status reporting via module indicators
  • Galvanic isolation between logic side and field control circuitry
  • Online hot-swappable installation without process interruption

Applications

  • Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems
  • Fire and Gas (F&G) detection and control systems
  • Burner Management Systems (BMS)
  • Turbomachinery control and protection
