The Foxboro FCP280 RH924WA Field Control Processor Module is a distributed, optionally fault-tolerant, field-mounted controller module designed for process control and alarming functions. Operating within the Foxboro Evo Process Automation System, the device executes regulatory, logic, timing, and sequential control schemes in conjunction with connected Fieldbus Modules (FBMs), while also managing data acquisition, alarm detection, and notification tasks. The Foxboro FCP280 connects to The Mesh control network via standard fiber optic or copper 100 Mbps Ethernet cables from baseplate-mounted network adapters. In this specific hardware configuration, the RH924WA fiber adapter equips the module with ceramic LC connectors to interface via multimode fiber optic cabling.
The module interfaces with up to 128 Compact or standard 200 Series FBMs via a 2 Mbps HDLC fieldbus across four PIO channels (Expanded fieldbus). Alternatively, it supports up to 64 100 Series FBMs on a 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbus, with the remaining allocation made up of 200 Series modules up to the 128-module limit.
